About this place
Choose grilled or simmered fish, then pick a small side dish to suit your taste. Lunch at Fudo centres on fish, with room to shape the meal around your preferences. One diner described a lunch of teriyaki Spanish mackerel with a simmered dish, praising the fish’s tenderness and the rice. On another day, a diner paired simmered fish with grilled satsuma-age, rice, miso soup and pickles. A grilled-fish set featuring kasuzuke red fish and a simmered side dish has also been enjoyed; the choice of side gives each meal its own character.
The sashimi assortment set is another option. Diners have reported enjoying several kinds of fish, including squid, horse mackerel, bigeye tuna and sea bream, served with wakame miso soup and pickles. A menu record lists an assortment of sashimi at 680 yen, lightly salted silver salmon at 700 yen and kasuzuke red fish at 750 yen, among other dishes. Prices and offerings may change, but being able to choose by fish and cooking style is a welcome feature.
In the evening, the choices extend beyond set meals to small plates and beer. Settle in for a drink with snacks such as salted squid guts or finely shredded yam.
